Sleeping Beauty

Lorelai has been such a good sleeper since day one. When we first brought her home she would sleep four to six hours at night between feedings. By eleven weeks she was sleeping ten to twelve hours a night. Occasionally she refuses to nap so I put her on her play mat or in her swing and eventually she gives in. I hope all our babies are this easy!

Back to Az

We made a trip to Az recently and had a great time! Preston was only able to be there for part of the time (man did we miss him!), but Emily and Lorelai stayed for 8 days. While we were there Carolina and Jeff were sealed. It was a beautiful ceremony that Emily nearly missed by forgetting her recommend, whew, close call. Carrie you looked beautiful and we are so happy for you guys!!

Emily, Carolina, Lorelai and Danielle
It was so great to see you guys!
We were also able to spend lots of time with the family!
Lorelai with Grandpa House

Lorelai with Uncle Adrian and Aunt Lindsey
Lorelai with Grandma Dixon

Lorelai sleeping on Grandpa Miller, she was so tired she slept on him for over and hour at the reception, so cute!

Aunt Tara and Lorelai playing!

Grandma Miller holding Lorelai and cousin Brooklyn while Tara, Jackie and I got pedicures.
What a nice Grandma!

We had a great time just the girls, pedicures followed by facials and lunch and shopping!

We had such a good time with everyone, once again I failed at my attempt to get pictures with everyone we spent time with. We were able to spend time with all the family (House's, Miller's and Dixon's). Derek and Kristen were in town when we were so we saw them and their girls which was great! Darin was also in town when we were so we went on a double date with him and his friend Courtney! Preston and I also got some birthday shopping in for me because Az has way better shopping options than Id. I've left much out I am sure, but all in all it was a great trip!

Great Grandpa Shepherd

Today is the anniversary of grandpa Shepherd's death and for some reason I have thought a lot about him lately. I was very fortunate to have had the opportunity to get to know him towards the end of his life, I only wish Preston would have also known him. But he left us with so many great memories. I was trying to think of my favorites but there are just so many. I think closest to my heart is the memory of the rubber giraffe shaped ring I gave him that he wore on his pinky everywhere until he died. If someone asked him about it he would tell them he was engaged. I will never forget the day he pulled a butcher knife on brother Ashcroft and told him he was going to shave his beard off for him! I also enjoyed when he tried to put the moves on great grandma Smith who was from the other side of the family and she wanted nothing to do with him. There are so many great memories and so now in memory of him anyone who has a good grandpa story either write it in my comments or post it on your own blog, I know anyone who knew him has one so no excuses!

The loves of my life!

The other morning when I woke up I could hear Lorelai in her crib in her room talking to herself, just laying there making happy little cooing noises. I realized that was one of my favorite sounds. Almost simultaneously I thought of one of my other favorite sounds; whenever I hear the garage door opening when I am home because that means that Preston is home. Simply put those two are the best parts of my day, I just can't get enough and everyday is better than the last!

Who Doesn't Love the Snow!

The Last couple weeks we have had almost non stop snow which is highly unusual for Boise. Still, we prefer this weather over the oh so hot Arizona summers. Plus, having to shovel the snow regularly is a great calorie burner and who doesn't love that.

My wonderful husband out in the cold clearing our driveway, while Lorelai
and I relax in the warm house. Thanks babe!
Look at all that snow!
We decided to have some fun with the huge piles of snow that had accumulated from all his shoveling. That's one good looking snowman if you ask me!

Darin Comes To Boise...

Last week Darin (Preston's friend) came to visit us; here's a
little snapshot of the fun we had!
This is Preston and Darin's one-of-a-kind snowman.
Who else thinks he resembles a wiseman? Here they are testing out the most expensive toys in the store.
Meanwhile Lorelai was shopping for the perfect shades
After a long couple of days the boys were tired

Here we are at the Outback Steakhouse which, by the way, has no real
resemblence to Australian food.
While Darin was here, him and Preston also went tubing in the snow twice and Darin went snowboarding twice. We have no pictures of this at all. I guess that's what happens when the wife doesn't come along. All in all, we enjoyed having him here. Thanks for the good time Darin!
